ICL 2013: In past conferences and events, Imprint Culture Lab has focused on international and underground trends, next-level technology, and extraordinary architecture (for dogs). On April 26, it will turn the spotlight toward its hometown. Long Beach: Work in Progress will provide a multifaceted examination of an organically ripening community on the cusp of coolness, with history, energy, and potential that cannot be replicated by planned communities. The event will focus on the city’s rich-but-seldom-celebrated heritage and unsung diversity and as well as its rejuvenation and current flourishing of creative cultures and businesses. Appropriately, it will take place at the historic and ignored Edison Theatre on Broadway.

Speakers: John Jay (Wieden + Kennedy), Cara Mullio (Author/Root Development), Jennifer M. Volland (Author), Jonathan Gold (LA Times food critic), Jack Grisham (Author/Musician, TSOL), Dengue Fever (Band), Chad Tim Tim (Pro Skater), Justin Reynolds (Skate Goods Distributor), Paul Kwon (Skate Shoe Designer), Joe Escalante (The Vandals), Ricki Bedenbaugh (Skate Video Cinematographer), Amy Bodek (Development Services for the City of Long Beach), and Julia Huang (Founder of Imprint/CEO of interTrend Communications)
